Slovak industrial production increases further in December

Slovakia’s industrial production rose more than expected in December, data from the Bratislava-based Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) showed on Thursday.

Industrial production rose 8.9% year-on-year in December. Economists had expected an increase of 1.6%.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, industrial production rose 0.8% month over month in December.

Among the main industrial groups, the production of non-durable goods increased by 20.7% and that of durable consumer goods by 18.0%.

Production of capital goods rose 8.3%.

The production of intermediate goods increased by 5.6% and that of energy by 9.5%. Over the whole of 2021, industrial production increased by 10.4%.
