New Delhi, August 20 (SocialNews.XYZ) The mineral production index for the mining and quarrying sector for June 2022 stood at 113.4, 7.5% higher than the level recorded during the corresponding period last year, namely June 2021.
According to figures released by the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), the cumulative growth recorded during the April-June period of the current financial year was 9% compared to the corresponding period last year.
The level of coal production stood at 669 lakh tons in June 2022, while lignite production stood at 46 lakh tons. Natural gas production (used) stood at 2,747 million cubic meters, oil production (crude) at 24 lakh tons, while limestone production stood at 335 lakh tons.
In terms of production growth of important minerals in June 2022, diamond saw a jump of 340%, followed by gold at 107%, phosphorite at 41%, coal at 31% and lignite at 28 %, followed by others like zinc concentrate, manganese ore, magnesite and bauxite.
