Kalinga Literary Festival 2021 will start on December 10, 3 writers will receive the KLF Prize

Bhubaneswar: The 8th edition of the Odisha Tourism-Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) to be held in Bhubaneswar from December 10-12, 2021 to connect Kashmiri writers, poets and intellectuals to Kanyakumari.

The Kalinga Literary Festival will celebrate the 75 years of India’s independence with the central theme “India at 75: Commemorating the Republic of Letters”. Around 300 celebrities from the world of literature, film, media and politics will gather in the temple city of Odisha.

While addressing the media person at a press conference today, the founder of the Kalinga Literary Festival, Rashmi Ranjan Parida, informed that the veteran writer of Odia Shrinavas Udgata, the eminent poet Arun Kamal, Bollywood actress and writer Divya Dutta would be awarded the prestigious Kalinga Literary Prizes of 2021.

Likewise, young and dynamic writer Taro Sindik will be awarded the prestigious Kalinga Youth Literary Prize of 2021, he added.

Odisha Tourism Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi will join as guest of honor to inaugurate the festival. His Excellency Ram Prasad Subedhi, Embassy of Nepal, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Amar Patnaik, Padma Vibhushan Dr Sitakanta Mohapatra, Padma Bhusan Ramakanta Rath, Padma Shri Jayanta Mahapatra, Padma Shri Haldhar Nag will join the inaugural ceremony of the festival.

Renowned public intellectual and former governor Professor Gopalkrisnha Gandhi will address the central theme of the festival, “India at 75: Commemoration of the Republic of Letters”. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will join as guest of honor on closing day.

KLF Book Awards: The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) announced the KLF Book Awards 2020-21 in various categories – non-fiction book, fiction book, poetry book, Hindi book, book in translation, first book of Bhasa, business book, strategic business book, environment book, biography / autobiography book, children’s book, sports book, lifestyle and emerging trend books and others. The books were selected from books submitted by publishers of all categories. 49 books have been selected for the years 2020 and 2021.

The three-day festival will cover several dimensions of the interconnections between Literature, freedom, republican values, cultural diversity, social equity. Over 30 new books and monographs will be published during the event.
