Industrial production up 7.1% YoY in January

In January 2022, the volume of industrial production in Hungary increased by 7.1% year-on-year according to production data corrected for working days, reports the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

According to the raw data, industrial production increased by 8.9% compared to January 2021.

The majority of manufacturing sub-sections contributed to the growth.

After six months of decline, the manufacture of transport equipment representing the most important weight increased again, the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products practically stagnated.

Food, beverage and tobacco manufacturing grew at a faster rate than the industry average, KSH notes.

According to data adjusted for seasonal variations and working days, industrial production increased by 1.9% compared to December 2021.
