In February 2022, the volume of industrial production in Hungary increased by 4.5% year-on-year, according to raw and working-day-adjusted indices from the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

The majority of the manufacturing sub-sections contributed to the growth, however, the manufacturing of transport equipment representing the largest weight decreased slightly.

After stagnating in the previous month, manufacturing of computer, electronic and optical products and manufacturing of food, beverage and tobacco products both increased, the latter at a pace above the industrial average.

In the first two months of the year, production was 6.6% higher than in the same period of 2021.

Industrial production in February — according to seasonally and working day-adjusted indexes — was 1.6% higher than the previous month’s level, KSH notes.
