Industrial production up 3.6% year-on-year in December

In December 2021, the volume of industrial production increased by 5.8% year-on-year based on raw data and 3.6% based on working-day data, according to data published by the Central Office. statistics (KSH).

Among the manufacturing sub-sections, production fell only in the most important weight representing one: the manufacture of transport equipment compared to December 2020. The decline was mainly caused by the fact that due to the global shortage of semiconductors, factories were working at lower capacity or on a single-shift basis.

The manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products and the manufacture of food, beverage and tobacco products have increased significantly.

Industrial production in December – according to the seasonally and working day adjusted indices – was 0.1% lower than the previous month’s level.

In 2021, the production volume increased by 9.6% compared to 2020.
