Industrial production in Poland, producer prices increase in August


Polish industrial production rose 13.2 percent per year in August, following an increase of 9.8 percent the month before, data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) showed on Monday.

Manufacturing output grew 13.3% per year in August, and mining and quarrying output increased 4.1%. Electricity production and water supply increased by 16.1% and 11.7% respectively.

On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 2.5% in August.

Producer prices rose 9.5% per year in August, following the 8.4% increase in July, according to separate data from the Warsaw-based statistics agency. Prices in mining and quarrying increased by 17.7% and prices in the manufacturing sector by 9.7%.

The prices of electricity, gas supply, steam and hot water, water supply, sanitation and waste management increased by 4.7% and 4% respectively. , 2%. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.6% in August, after gaining 1.5% the month before.
