Dunapack starts production at HUF 20 billion factory in 2022

Dunapack Packaging will start production of a HUF 20 billion cardboard factory it is building in Dunavarsány (30 km south of Budapest) at the end of 2022, the Austrian group Prinzhorn unit said according to hrportal.hu.

The plant will manufacture 3 and 5 ply cardboard with almost 90% recycled paper. Over 100 people will work in the factory initially, but ongoing developments will increase the workforce later.

Dunapack obtains its raw material from Hamburger Hungaria’s factory in Dunaújváros (70 km south of Budapest), which in turn uses waste paper collected by Hamburger Recycling; both are members of the Prinzhorn group.

Dunapack has 24 factories in 11 countries. In Hungary, it employs more than 600 people in three factories.
