College: First Prize: $100 – Second Prize: $50 – Third Prize: $25 – Honorable Mention: Certificates
High School: First Prize: $100 – Second Prize: $50 – Third Prize: $25 – Honorable Mention: Certificates
DEADLINE: Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. NO EXTENSION.
JUDGING RULES/CRITERIA
The competition will be judged by a panel of professional writers and editors.
Criteria include: creativity, style, originality, and correct spelling and grammar.
Each entry should not exceed 2500 words.
You can submit a maximum of one piece in each of the 3 categories (Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry).
In case of multiple applications, submit a new application for each application.
These entries can be any of your work, including schoolwork, as long as:
• it was written when you were in 5th grade or higher
• you have not submitted it to this competition before
• he has not won a prize in any other competition
Winners will be notified by email in the spring (late April/early May), with names and entries posted on the Chappaqua Library website.
