CAIRO – January 17, 2022: The Arab Publishers Association has announced details of the ‘Best Arabic Publisher’ award, which will be awarded for the first time during the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair to be held from January 26 to February 7, 2022.
The Higher Committee of the Cairo International Book Fair had decided to award for the first time a prize to the best Arab publisher, the first of its kind within the framework of the Cairo International Book Fair Awards.
The prize is awarded by the Arab Publishers Association in cooperation with the Egyptian General Book Organization, worth LE 40,000.
The Egyptian General Book Organization will hold a press conference to announce details of the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair on Jan. 17 at Al-Manara Exhibition Center in the Fifth Colony.
Egyptian Culture Minister Inas Abdel Dayem announced the extension of the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair, which will start on January 26 and run until February 7 instead of February 6 at the Egyptian Exhibition and Conference Center international.
Abdel Dayem said that the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair resumes its original date at the end of January every year, after the last edition of the book fair was held exceptionally during the month of June. 2021 due to the global pandemic.
She pointed out that the next edition will see an increase in the number of exhibition days reaching 13 consecutive days to provide the public with an opportunity to visit the exhibition and support the book and publishing industry.
It should be noted that the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair bears the slogan “The identity of Egypt” and that Greece will be the guest of honor. The late writers Yehia Haqqi and Abdel Tawab Youssef were elected personalities of the year.
